About Us
In 2019, Re:Store op shop was just a dream - not only born out of a love for finding a great deal while second hand shopping, but for supporting women facing unplanned pregnancies. We desperately wanted to create a safe place where people could receive both information and support. Practical support like pregnancy testing, baby items, but also emotional support throughout the pregnancy, no matter what choice is made.
Our founder Shannon found herself in a similar position in the 90's as a young teen mum. During that uncertain time, she was given the gift of understanding all of her choices and unwavering support from women around her. Since then she has passed along this gift to other women in her community. Seeing the need in Palmerston North, she rallied a group of dedicated volunteers around her to share her vision and partner with Pregnancy Choice.
Re:store Op Shop was born and opened it's doors mid 2021.
We create a safe place for women to discretely receive free pregnancy testing, a listening ear, up-to-date information about all of their options, support with practical needs and ongoing care, no matter the decision.
In 2024, Re:store Op Shop and Pregnancy Choice Palmerston North moved from Broadway Ave to 258 Church St. A much bigger store, more space to support our community. We take the time to bridge the gap, offering a place to ensure women can make the best possible decision for herself and her future. We are a team of dedicated volunteers who care deeply for the community we live in.
